SHORE GAINS ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 ACCREDITATION

Shore Design proudly announces we are one of the first UK product development consultancies to have gained full accreditation for both the quality standard ISO 9001 for general products and the more specialized ISO 13485 for Medical Devices. This accreditation helps cement our position at the forefront of the medical design industry and further enhances our commitment to quality & excellence for our entire development process.

  SHORE EXPANDS FACILITIES WITH NEW OFFICE SPACE

  Shore Design has today announced the opening of their new office space, more than doubling their previous office capacity. Shore will remain in Leith, the heart of Edinburgh’s thriving waterfront area.

This expansion will provide much needed extra space for new staff, combined with the construction of a new custom product display and client area. This will also mean an increase in conference rooms and provide dedicated parking facilities for staff and visitors.

  SHORE VICTORIOUS AT BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS

  Shore Design has won the award for best performing business (25 Staff and under) in Edinburgh & Lothian’s Business Excellence Awards. Shore Design was able to demonstrate dynamism, commitment to growth and success in achieving planned objectives.

  The judges agreed that Shore had a clearly defined vision for developing and growing the business in terms of both turnover and employment, combined with a strong focus on the needs of the customer through effective marketing strategies.

  LEITH DESIGNERS DELIVER WITH NEW PACKARD BELL PC

  Shore Design confirmed its position as Scotland's largest product design consultancy after winning two years orders from Packard Bell to redesign a range of personal computers.

  The result of Shore’s first design collaboration with Packard Bell is a range of PC’s that have taken the market by storm. Q3 2005 for Packard Bell showed 58.5% growth and its PCs moved to take number one position in the market ahead of Dell and HP.

The PC range, which includes mid/high range desktops (Packard Bell iMedia and Packard Bell iXtreme Gold), along with keyboard, monitors, speakers and mouse, improved upon the design of previous models while achieving significant cost savings for the client.

Following detailed market analysis, Shore Design worked in close collaboration with Packard Bell and its suppliers throughout the design process, from initial sketch ideas and new concept development, through engineering and into pre-production support.

Nick Foley, Director added: “Typically, this kind of work has been migrating to the Far East and there appears to be a general misconception that ‘Designed in China’ offers a more cost effective solution. However, all our clients have found that our key skills and services deliver an increased return on investment that contradicts this view, through greater sales, reduced costs and improved time to market.”
