Requirement
Essential Viewing are leaders in the provision of real-time, narrow band video solutions for law enforcement, military, transportation and local authority applications. To satisfy their worldwide network of partners and distributors they required 2 bespoke state of the art products. A low cost enclosure capable of operating in transport applications and the other for use in hostile environments up to military standard.
Development
For both products, the initial task was to produce the optimum product architecture in parallel to concept generation of multiple design solutions in sketch form.
Following review and selection of concepts and further aesthetic refinement, the design progressed into 3D CAD for both photo realistic renderings for marketing, plus full mechanical development and electronic integration. Shore procured all mechanical verification prototypes and assisted in the set up and management of the mass production manufacturing supply chain.
Result
A Military spec. product capable of withstanding drop tests of up to 2 metres onto concrete, submersion in water to up to 1 metre for 30 minutes (IP67) and supporting a temperature range of between minus 40°C and 85° C.
