Packard Bell ▪ "Digital Home" Audio/ Visual Equipment
Requirement
As part of an investigation to broaden their scope and product range and to embrace and expand their “Digital Home” concept, Packard Bell tasked Shore Design with an investigation into a range of Audio/ Visual products that included Widescreen TV’s, DVD players and Music systems.
In particular the Audio/Visual sales departments posed an interesting challenge; traditionally a PC manufacturer did not supply quality audio visual equipment, a perception especially strong in the in-store sales staff.
Development
As with other projects, Shore Design initially embarked on a period of user and market research in close collaboration with the Packard Bell marketing team. The outcome resulted in a concept generation and refinement process involving; 2D hand sketches, 3D sketch models, 3D CAD development and 3D photorealistic renderings. The outcome resulted in five separate ranges of audio/ visual equipment were developed for discussion, review and selection by the key sales channels.

Result
Following positive feedback from the sales channels, a complete product range and brand new, informed, brand language was developed for Packard Bell. The strong identity established has been successfully carried over a wide variety of spin off products and continues to under pin the Packard Bell brand today.
